PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — The Assembly of Signatories of the National Pact for Stability and the Organization of Elections (ASPN) held a press conference on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, to assess the relevance, effectiveness, and unity surrounding the national pact.
During the conference, ASPN representatives expressed concerns that many of the commitments outlined in the agreement have not been respected since its signing. Participants highlighted the need for greater accountability among stakeholders and renewed efforts to achieve the objectives initially established by the pact.
According to the organization, the meeting served as an opportunity to evaluate the current political environment and discuss the role the pact should continue to play in promoting stability, dialogue, and the organization of credible elections in Haiti.
The ASPN also emphasized the importance of national consensus and institutional cooperation as the country continues to face political, economic, and security challenges.
Observers note that the effectiveness of such agreements remains a key issue in Haiti’s ongoing efforts to strengthen democratic governance and restore public confidence in state institutions.
